1991
Gives a speech at the Annual Festival of the district of Poblenou (Barcelona).
Monument to the President Francesc Macià in Barcelona's Plaça de Catalunya.

1992
Appointed Honorary Member of the Liceu College of Music in Barcelona.
Creates the set design for the play 'Cavalls de mar' by the brothers Josep Lluís and Rodolf Sirera, staged by Josep Maria Flotats and Ignasi Camprodon and premièred at the Teatre Poliorama in Barcelona.

1993
Frieze Iris in Madrid's Plaza de Colón.
The book 'La sima de las penúltimas inocencias' by Camilo José Cela is presented in Barcelona and Madrid, with drawings by Josep M. Subirachs.
Receives the Correo de las Artes Prize as the best sculptural artist.
The book 'Aproximació a l'obra gràfica de Subirachs' by Pilar Vélez, published by Editorial Mediterrània, is presented in the Sala d’Art Maragall in Barcelona.

1994
Cecília Burgaya dies in Barcelona on January 17th.
Sculpture Catalonia in the Plaça de Catalunya in Sabadell.

1995
The first bronze door, dedicated to the Garden of Gethsemane, is put in place on the Passion Façade of the Sagrada Família Temple in Barcelona.

1996
Gold Medal from the Barcelona International Painting Fund.

1997
Named 'Most significant living Catalan artist of the 20th century', according to surveys carried out by the La Vanguardia newspaper, Catalunya Ràdio and Enciclopèdia Catalana.

1998
The Spanish Minister for Education and Culture awards him the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts.

1999
Bust of the president Josep Tarradellas in the Pati dels Tarongers of the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, in Barcelona.

2000
The last two bronze doors are put in place, one dedicated to the Gospel according to Matthew and the other to the Gospel according to John, on the Passion Façade of the Sagrada Família in Barcelona.
