CIUTAT VELLA
In addition to the monument dedicated to Francesc Macià, unveiled in the year 1991 in the Plaça de Catalunya, the itinerary in Ciutat Vella includes the bronze door sculpted by Subirachs for the Archive of the Crown of Aragon, located in the Palacio del Lloctinent. Emphasis should also be placed on the cement frieze and the coats of arms of the city which decorate the walls of the new Barcelona City Council buildings, in Plaça Sant Miquel. Finally, in the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya there is a mural dedicated to St. George Theseus and the portraits of the four presidents who chaired the Government of Catalonia from the year 1931 until the first autonomous elections held in the post-war period: Francesc Macià, Lluís Companys, Josep Irla and Josep Tarradellas.
